About Me – Bread, Milk and Honey. [start here!]

Welcome to Bread Milk and Honey.

My name is Tobi and this is a space I intentionally wanted to create to reach many of you who like myself are homemakers, wives, mothers and followers of Christ.

I am a blessed wife and mama to a baby girl and a highly energetic spaniel.

I see the responsibilities God has given me as some of the most incredible acts of service, my ministry essentially and I want Bread Milk and Honey to feel like a warm companion for my readers whether you’re in a similar life season to me or you’re not.

My journey in life has been like many, full of its great challenges, not realising the bondage I was in, full of rage, chasing so many things, to fill me, which led to lack of confidence, me always questioning myself and addiction to hopeless things.

I was saved by His grace before I married my husband. After many trials of doing the same things and expecting different results, seeing my husbands’ act of faith truly changed something in me. It made me much bolder, something I always struggled with a life full of being compared to and then rejection.

As it says in Ecclesiastes 1:9:

‘The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.’

The bible is full of simple truths. Sometimes I feel so silly when reading it to realise how simple it is. It has no grand revelations like the world is obsessed with looking for but directness, no ambiguity, speaks of accountability, and it can be 100% relied on where many other things are so fleeting. I sometimes wish it didn’t take me almost 30 years (my upbringing wasn’t built on Christ..) but I’ve come to see my path with gratitude to have walked life with such struggle because it has prepared me to be the woman I am today.

Why Bread Milk and Honey?

Food makes us happy, it literally releases the “feel good” hormones. Oxytocin. I learnt a great deal about this from my incredible doula when I had my daughter. Well spiritually many of us are challenged and so we need to be filled with what is good for us to consume and hear hence the name of this blog. I hope to be part of your journey in filling you spiritually.

What you’ll find here:

  • Christ-centred motherhood and raising a daughter in faith
  • The rhythms of a peaceful home
  • Simple, nourishing food
  • Faith woven into everyday life
  • Homeschooling as a natural extension of home life
  • The quiet work of building a life with intention

I pray that Bread, Milk & Honey fills you with biblical wisdom the kind that quietly shapes your life and becomes something you would never think to live without because:

“Faith without works is dead” (James 2:17)
